 On 17th February 2020 Dr. Mangal Chavan, NSS P.O., G.N. Khalsa College have conducted Corona Virus Documentary show and awareness session for NSS Volunteers from 1.00PM to 3.00 PM. 44 Volunteers attended the same


According to the circular available from Secretory, Dept. of Health and Family Welfare and Joint Secretory (HE), MHRD regarding sensitizing staff & students for Corona Virus outbreak, the Dept. of Zoology has organized CORONA VIRUS Awareness session on 14th March 2020 at 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Dr. Deepika Nandanwar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, KEM Hospital was called as guest speaker. 87 teaching, non-teaching, NSS and Non NSS students took benefit.
 
  


During Lockdown period various activities have been conducted by NSS Unit. 3. Forwarded Aarogya Setu App link on various WhatsApp groups (to approx. 700 teachers & students). Got 365 students intimated for their registration

On 21st March 2020 forwarded link for Janta Curfew Plegde, aprrox. 320 students took the pledge to follow all directions given by Govt. of India to control the spread of Corona virus and received certificate for the same


On 30th March 2020 forwarded link for “Stay at Home, save lives” pledge. Approx. 345 students registered & committed themselves to abide 21 days lockdown rules placed by Govt. of India and for the same they got certificate.


Till the date 54 masks were prepared by NSS Volunteers and distributed in their local area mainly to the poor people.





One of our NSS Volunteer composed inspirational song against COVID-19 in hindi. In spite off being stuck in Akkalkot, Solapur she prepared this song. Another NSS Volunteer has also composed Powada (Marathi folk song) to create awareness and to build courage among society against COVID-19.


 Some of our NSS Volunteers have prepared awareness posters on COVID 19.



After discussion with Mr. Vivek Bhau Pandit, a great Social worker, former minister of state legislative and president of Shramjeevi Sangathana and the village authorities, our NSS Unit has decided to work for charity. So we have organized “Join the fight against COVID-19 campaign” for Geographical and Economically Challenged communities. An appeal was made to contribute some money to Non-profitable NGO “Shramjeevi Sangathana” (feeding to the tribals from regions of Jawhar, Mokhada, Palghar, Bhiwandi areas of Maharashtra who work on daily wages to learn their livelihood are suffering in this lockdown periods).


NSS Unit have organized Essay and Drawing competitions for School children of our adopted village area, Akloli. With the help of Principal sir, Z.P. School, Akloli and Gram panchayat person we are conducting this activity. We have forwarded competition brochure through WhatsApp.



 NSS volunteers also started working on constructing study material in the form of educational videos for adopted village students by recording their own teaching lessons.



 On 22nd April 2020, attended online meeting of NSS Unit, Mumbai university where the future plan was discussed regarding COVID – 19 activities.



On 23rd April 2020 conducted online meeting and interacted with NSS leaders to take updates of offline activities regarding COVID – 19 activities.



On 24th April 2020 conducted online meeting of all NSS Volunteers. Principal sir also joined this meeting and took updates and impart the suggestions regarding COVID – 19 activities.



To create awareness in adopted village area our unit is sharing posters, songs, slogans, authentic videos, etc. on WhatsApp to the official persons viz Gram panchayat, Z.P. School Principal.
