Young Achievers Scholarship 2019-20

Gunvati Jagan Nath Kapoor Young Achievers scholarship of Gunvati Jagan Nath Kapoor Foundation gives students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College an opportunity to enhance their existing skills and become ready for the professional world with a socially 
sensitive mind set.

Selected students will be trained on soft and hard skills. They will also get hands on experience in working in a professionally run social organisation. The students will work on live projects and develop skills by doing and experiencing. 

The scholarship demands commitment of 100 hours during vacation. The students, upon successful completion, will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 15,000 and a certification, jointly offerd by the foundation and Khalsa College

To identify, nurture and enhance skills of needy students and create an awareness about social sector through workshops and a hands-on live project in a professional setting.

Students should dedicate 100 hours of fellowship during (Diwali and Christmas Vacation) bifurcated as 90 hrs of extensive work under social organisation along with extensive training on soft and hard skill and 10 hrs for preparing, submitting and presenting a report.

• Fellowship is open for students of first, second and third year of Khalsa College
• The annual family income of students should not exceed Rs 3,00,000/-
• Students should be passionate about working in a social organisation.
• Students should be willing to offer 100 hours during their vacation.

Fellowship Details:
• The selected students who complete the program will receive a fellowship amounting to RS 15000 (fifteen thousand only).
• Two credit points can be earned through this program.
• Opportunity to work in a professional run social organisation with a live project.
• Personality development and enhancement of soft & hard skills.
• Sensitization on social issues.
• A Certificate jointly issued by Gunvati J Kapoor Foundation and G N Khalsa College.
• Opportunity to become champions/ partners in next year’s fellowship
• Become an alumnus of the GJK Foundation Fellowship Program

• Filling of application of forms and selection based on interview (The interview will not focus on language or communication skills of the applicant)
• Selected students will be assigned mentors from the foundation 
• Orientation programme for selected students and mentors
• Mentors to support and train students during their respective assignments
• Workshops/Training by reputed resource persons
• Working on a live project in an assigned NGO
• Final Presentation & Report submission
• Constant Monitoring & Evaluation of the programme (start -Middle– end phase wise)- By GJK team 

Workshops under Fellowship:
Selected students will be undergoing training programmes in the following areas:
• Leadership
• Emotional Intelligence
• Basic computer skills
• Presentation skills

Deliverables by Students:
• 80 hrs of fellowship work on live projects - Projects on Data management, Interview skills, Surveys, Project Planning, Marketing, Healthcare Research, Analysis, Branding and Communication.
• 10 hours of acquiring skills by attending training programmes and workshops
• 10 hours of work on making a final report and presenting their work
