    • 50% aggregate (Open) and 45% aggregate (Reserved Category)
  • Admissions will be on the basis of Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Department

  • Almost 40% of all of our students, who have passed M.Sc. Bioanalytical Sciences course from G N Khalsa College, have registered for Ph.D. in reputed institutes (National) like NIRRH (Parel), GNIRD (Matunga), Ruia college(Matunga), TDM (Sion)
  • Also about 15% of our ex-students are pursuing their Ph.D in the USA in various Universities.
Academic front: 
  • 25 % of the students are working as lecturers in various colleges in Mumbai.

About the Course:

Bioinformatics is the interface between the two most rapidly advancing fields - biological and computational sciences. It is a scientific discipline and an asset of skills that has now become one of the most important information gathering and analysis tools. Proper data collection, data mining, and knowledge building tools are plyaing more and more role in current research and clinical applications. Bioinformatics is an emerging field which has broad range of application to molecular biology, pharmacology, biotechnology, forensic science, drug designing, and various other disciplines.

Today there is large, unmet, need for professionals to analyze data scientifically in order to extract the biological knowledge hidden in them for the general benefit of mankind with a working knowledge of the biological sciences and computational methods.

This M.Sc. Program in Bioinformatics is designed to address these needs through interdisciplinary training that bridges gap and meets the demand of pharmaceutical industry and strengthens research collaborations between academia and industry.

About the Course:

The awareness about role of food in maintaining good health and prevention of disease has increased dramatically and hence there is a huge market opportunity for nutraceuticals and industry will need more and more trained manpower. Nutraceutical is a nutritional product that provides medicinal benefits in addition to its regular nutritional value (nutrition + pharmaceutical). Nutraceuticals may refer to foods, dietary supplements, medicinal foods as well as functional foods that may contribute to prevention and / or treatment of disease.

  • B.Sc. in any of the following subjects:
    • Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology  OR
    • Degree in Medical Sciences, Food and Nutrition, Pharmacy
  • Minimum marks secured:
    • 50% aggregate (Open) and 45% aggregate (Reserved Category)
